Vehicle manufacturers and suppliers use Peak Test Management Suite (Peak TMS) to implement integrated processes for the planning, commissioning and execution of test tasks. As a result, they achieve significant efficiency improvements in their test departments. With the new release 4.3 of the platform, Peak Solution has further expanded the possibilities for steering test processes.
Test facilities are faced with an increasing complexity of planning processes. The challenge is to schedule a variety of tasks, assign suitable resources such as test beds, measurement equipment and test engineers, and avoid at the same time potential scheduling conflicts across departments. Home-grown tools based on MS Excel or Outlook are increasingly reaching their limits.

Peak Solution has released version 4.2 of the Peak Test Management Suite. This makes it possible to synchronize test requests with ODS-based systems, like openMDM©. There, the information from the test requests serve as meta data for the context-related description of measured data.
Peak Solution has extended the Peak Test Management Suite (PeakTMS) with a lightweight module for generating test reports. With PeakTMS, a wide range of test tasks can be centrally planned, prepared and tracked. You can find more information about PeakTMS here.
The efficient performance of tests plays a decisive role in vehicle development. Test stand automation and virtualization are important for this, but they are not longer enough. Especially in global acting enterprises a powerful management system is required that overcomes rigid departmental boundaries and gets the complexity of the test processes under control.
Our customer is a large manufacturer of SUVs and pick-up trucks in China. The company develops all the essential components of its vehicles by itself. For this purpose, 18 test bench systems from different manufacturers are in use in the transmission department. In recent years, the globalization of automotive manufacturers and suppliers has steadily increased. This also has an impact on the test facilities. A lack in transparency of the availability of test resources frequently leads to time-consuming, cost-intensive allocation conflicts and poor capacity utilization. This is where the Peak Resource Planner takes effect. Continue reading “Test Planning: Utilization, productivity and efficiency of test facilities”
